BC Adhesives Silicone Technologies

Acetoxy Silicone

Description: Acetoxy silicones are one-part, room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealants that release acetic acid as a by-product during curing. They tend to have a strong vinegar-like smell. Acetoxy silicones are also the most economical sealing solution for numerous applications. Acetoxy silicones act as a sealant and or adhesive.

Properties:

  • Fast curing time.
  • Excellent adhesion to non-porous surfaces like glass, metals, and glazed ceramics.
  • High resistance to UV radiation and weathering.
  • Good flexibility and durability over time.

Applications:

  • Kitchen, countertop, and bathroom sealants.
  • Commonly used in sanitary applications, such as sealing around sinks and bathtubs due to its mildew resistance.
  • NSF51 Certification for incidental food contact. Walk in coolers, refrigerators, etc.
  •

Neutral Cure Silicone

Description: Our Neutral cure silicones are classified as oxime and alkoxy. They exhibit non-corrosive and low-odor properties. Neutral cures are better with porous substrates. Neutral cure silicones act as a sealant and or adhesive.

Properties:

  • Odorless or low-odor during curing.
  • Good adhesion to a wide range of surfaces, including metals, glass, concrete, plastics, and wood.
  • Non-corrosive, making it ideal for use with sensitive materials like metals and electronics.
  • Resistant to weathering, UV light, and temperature fluctuations.
  •

Applications:

  • Window sealing, glass bonding.
  • Suitable for exterior applications like window frames, door frames, and building facades.
  • Used in the automotive and electronic industries due to its non-corrosive nature.

Industries Using BC Adhesives Silicones

Shower Assembly

  • Applications: Silicones are applied between glass panels, around shower heads, and along the edges of the shower base to create watertight seals. Cultured marble sealing vanities, countertops and sinks.
  • Benefits: Prevents water leaks, reduces mildew growth, and maintains a flexible seal that can endure regular use and cleaning.

Bath Installation

  • Applications: Used around the bathtub edges, faucets, and drains to prevent water from seeping into walls or floors.
  • Benefits: Provides a long-lasting seal that resists mold and mildew in wet environments. Silicones also remain flexible and can withstand frequent temperature changes caused by hot water.

Aquarium

  • Applications: Sealing glass panels, edge sealing, and attaching components.
  • Benefits: Strong adhesion to glass, water resistance, flexibility, fast curing time, non-toxic when cured, and aquatic life safe.
